Cromwell Community College

Combined Cadet Force

There are Combined Cadet Force (CCF) contingents in over 500 secondary schools all over the UK, offering young people a broad range of challenging, exciting, adventurous and educational activities.

The aim is to enable the development of personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline. Each CCF is an educational partnership between the school and the Ministry of Defence.

CCF units in schools give young people the life skills and self-confidence to take charge of their lives so they can reach their full potential at school and beyond, including in employment.

Each CCF is formed of sections from one or more of the Royal Navy/Royal Marines, Army or the Royal Air Force. Cromwell Community College and Neale-Wade Academy have formed an RAF Section, involving over 30 Year 9 cadets participating in CCF Training every Wednesday afternoon.

In the course of this academic year, CCF training will provide the following courses:

  • Radio Communications
  • Aircraft of the RAF
  • Leadership Training
  • Fieldcraft
  • Space

There will also be opportunities to fly and go on a camp as well as other activities.
