The modern foreign languages department has a special team of language ambassadors who work to promote, develop and help lead the languages department in Cromwell. Language ambassadors wear a pin to show their special role in school.
Following on from the success of last year’s Easter market, our Languages Ambassadors have been working to put on another fantastic MFL Market Lunch. This is where pupils come to spend their hard-earned tokens they’ve been collecting in languages classes over the previous half term.
Jack Wheelan reported that, ‘Over seven hundred tokens were given away during the run up to Easter. Last year, Ambassadors found that our Easter market was the most popular event of the year – and it’s nice to reward students who work consistently well in class.’
Spanish omelette, a German sausage selection, French crêpes, pain au chocolat and croissants were available to students. Our most popular orders were for crêpes and sausages. A number of the items on sale had been hand-made here at school and some pupils now report that omelette makes a regular appearance on the dinner menu at home following a number of pupils who have taken the Spanish recipe home!
Head of Languages, Mr Jackson, said, “I am really pleased by how much of a success the Languages Market Lunch was. This was completely down to the hard work and effort put in by our amazing team of Languages Ambassadors. It was great for us to be able to reward our fantastic students for working so well for us. I am really pleased and proud.”
Ambassadors have a number of key roles to support the department throughout the year.
Watch this space to see what they’ll be up to next!
We are also hoping to run a trip for our Year 10's to France next year; more details to follow soon.
